Madhuband Coal Mine

INDUKURI MINING PRIVATE LIMITED has undertaken re-opening, salvaging, rehabilitation, development, and operation of Madhuband Coal Mine for BCCL, about 35 KM west of Dhanbad, Jharkhand, India. The scope includes reopening the mine and extraction of precious coking coal reserves in 25 years whereby the total extractable coal is assessed as 53.04Mt.

Mining operation with both opencast and mechanised UG operation is proposed. Rated capacity of 1.45 Mtpa coal is proposed from both opencast mine with deployment of conventional shovel dumper combination and mechanised UG mining. The mine operation was suspended from 1st of April 2010. Production before suspension was around 39,008 tonnes achieved in 2006-07. Grade of coal reserves is Washery grade -III & IV.
